Larger diameter logs cut into short sections for use as seating. These complement our log seating as options for garden or fire pit seats. They are cut to 350,450 or 500mm heights.

They are finished a bit nicer than our chopping blocks with a sanding pad run over the edges and any splintered areas of the surface to make them suitable to sit on.

Be aware that splits will occur over time, but this usually does not affect the use of the item, its part of the natural rustic feel.

Log Seats

A log, flat topped to make a comfortable bench seat. These are available in custom lengths and are popular as fire pit seating. As a rough guide allow 400mm in length per person – so if you want a three seater we suggest a length of 1200mm minimum with 1400mm a bit more roomy. They are finished by running a sanding pad over the edges and any splintered areas of the surface to make them suitable to sit on.

They are cut from hardwood logs 450-500mm in diameter to a seat height of 350mm or 400mm. If you want the seating taller we can sit them on cross pieces that act like feet and raise the height a bit. We can also cut the ends on various angle to allow you to create hexagonal, octagonal or other geometric shapes

ECONOMY Black Oak Bulka Bag Standard split (0.8 m3)

Plantation grown Tasmanian Black Oak, split and packed in a bulka bag – 900 x 900 x 900 mm size. Cut to standard lengths of 24 – 30 cm. Black Oak is an acacia and closely related to species used extensively in Africa for firewood. It is similar density to Bluegum, a medium hard wood, but is better suited to heating your home, burning readily and with a low ash residue. Being less dense you will burn a bit more than the denser Rose gum, Spotted Oak and Southern Mahogany in our premium bags

The bag stretches a bit making it about 0.8 m3. These bags pack to roughly the same volume as a 7 x 4 trailer packed to a depth of 12 inches. Like all our bulka product we store this in sheds and deliver it seasoned, dry and ready to use. This product is not rain soaked.

Landscaping logs per 100kg

These are green logs available in a variety of diameters from 150mm to around 500mm. These logs are suitable for use as poles, retaining walls and terracing, or can be flat topped for garden benches or seating around a fire pit. As they are fairly green they have minimal splitting. Delivery is available but will depend on quantity and size of the logs chosen. We encourage you to come and inspect before purchase.

Short cut Bulka Bag (0.8 m3)

A mix of plantation grown hardwoods, split and packed in a bulka bag – 900 x 900 x 900 mm size. Cut to shorter lengths around 20 cm. Ideally suited for small heaters designed for single rooms or small areas where the firebox size makes regular length pieces hard to use. This product is single split.

These are premium hardwoods for home heating – typically one of either Rose Gum, Spotted Gum or Southern Mahogany. Grown in the South West these are Eastern States species that are highly sought after for firewood.

Longer and larger pieces of our standard mix of plantation grown hardwoods, split and packed in a bulka bag – 900 x 900 x 900 mm size. This variant is ideally suited to large venues – pubs, breweries, etc with a large fireplace heating a big area. Length is 30 – 45 cm, split into large pieces.

As with our regular product this is a mix of plantation grown hardwoods, split and packed in a bulka bag – 900 x 900 x 900 mm size. The pieces are cut to standard lengths of 24 to 30 cm. The difference is these bags go through the splitting process twice. This means the pieces are smaller and for most uses will not need further splitting. Also the bags are slightly heavier as the smaller pieces pack in tighter.

Dry Unprocessed Logs (per 100kg)

In buying logs to process we get a percentage that are a challenge to process in our machine – they might be

oversize – our machine is designed for logs to 500mm diameter, which makes it ideal for processing timber too small for milling, but awkward with logs at the limit.
bent – the logs are handled on a log deck and conveyor, so even a small bend makes them difficult and time consuming
otherwise unsuitable – perhaps split a half log or even too small to be efficient.

We stack these logs to one side and sell them to people who are happy to wield a chain saw and cut their own firewood. They are at least one year old and so reasonably dry. They are sold by weight – per 100kg – we weigh them as we sling them onto the trailer or truck with the hiab and round down the nearest 100kg. They cost about one third of the equivalent weight in processed firewood. We can cut to length for your trailer or ute

Chopping Blocks

These are cut from logs 450 – 600mm in diameter to a height of approx 850 mm, so you can split wood without having to bend down. Having a block like this makes splitting kindling and resizing larger chunks much easier.

These blocks are selected from the larger logs we receive favouring those that are not cracked radially, often they are the knotty bits with interlocked grain that are difficult to process for firewood – by hand or with the machine

You can pick them up or we will deliver with a firewood order.
